The 29th Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Guild session has officially begun its activities, with the first Guild business focusing on voting for nominees to key positions, including the Guild Financial Advisor and the Standby Electoral Commission.
The session was chaired by the 29th MUBS Guild Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tumusiime Benon, who presided over the proceedings as Guild representatives considered and voted on the names presented.
A major item on the agenda was the voting process concerning the Guild Financial Advisor, an important position in the Guild structure that supports financial guidance and accountability.
The House also considered and voted on the proposed Standby Electoral Commission, a body expected to play an important role in the Guild's electoral processes whenever required.
The proceedings marked the beginning of the 29th Guild's legislative and governance activities, setting the pace for the new Guild season.
Under the chairmanship of Rt. Hon. Tumusiime Benon, the session brought Guild representatives together to make decisions on matters concerning the operational structures of the Guild.
The voting exercise is among the first significant activities of the 29th Guild season as the new student leadership continues to establish structures and institutions necessary for the effective running of Guild affairs.
The 29th MUBS Guild government comes after the election of H.E. Isma Walakira as Guild President in April 2026, ushering in a new chapter of student leadership at Makerere University Business School.
